Eloff Street and Others I

When the South African version of Monopoly came out, Eloff Street was the most expensive street in the board game, because it was the greatest shopping street in the city, like London's Oxford or Regent Streets. Today...... well, let's just say that it won't make the monopoly board.

Joburg reminds me of my city of birth, Oakland, California USA which used to have a booming downtown. Now's it's trashed with empty buildings (think Detroit) and getting worse. SA you're not alone!!
